This notice explains how Toolkitgarden handles personal information when you visit toolkitgarden.click, write to the desk, or commission a briefing. It is written for readers in Malaysia and for anyone whose information reaches our Johor Bahru office.
Data controller
Toolkitgarden, Office 8, 21 Test Road, Johor Bahru 00000, Malaysia, is the controller for personal information collected through this site and through commissioned work. Email: info@toolkitgarden.click. Telephone: +60 7 0000 9850.
What we collect
From the contact form: name, email address, optional briefing choice, optional publication or app name, optional preferred start week, and the message you write. From email or telephone: whatever you choose to tell us. From commissioned work: staff names, job titles, and the minimum access needed to reconstruct a sample week. From the browser: the consent choice stored locally as toolkitgarden_cookie_consent if you accept or reject cookies.
We do not ask for identity-card numbers, payment-card details, health information, or passwords to personal accounts. Staff logins, when used, are handled as access for the job and are not stored in a marketing list.
Why we hold it
We use contact details to reply, to send a scope, to schedule a start week, and to deliver a briefing. We use newsroom access only to perform the contracted work. We use the cookie choice to remember your preference on this browser. We do not sell lists and we do not send newsletters unless you have asked for a specific note.
Retention
Enquiries that do not become work are kept for twelve months, then deleted from our mailbox files unless the law requires a longer hold. Contracts, scopes, invoices, and the delivered briefing are kept for seven years for accounting and dispute purposes under Malaysian practice. Access credentials are withdrawn when the walkthrough is done. The cookie choice stays in your browser until you clear it or choose again.
Who sees it
The Johor Bahru desk. A visiting newsroom may see its own material in a workshop. We use an email host and an accountant bound to confidentiality. We do not pass your enquiry to an unrelated consultancy.
International transfers
Our office is in Malaysia. Email and site hosting may involve processors outside Malaysia. Where that happens, we rely on contractual clauses and on the fact that the information sent is ordinary professional correspondence, not a special category of data. If a transfer would be inappropriate for a particular title, say so before granting access.
Your rights
You may ask what we hold, ask for a correction, ask for deletion where we have no remaining legal need, and withdraw a consent that was freely given (for example, the cookie choice). Write to info@toolkitgarden.click. We aim to answer within thirty days. You may also complain to the relevant Malaysian authority concerned with personal data.
Children
This site and these services are for newsroom professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from children.
